Background

Asavie Technologies Limited develops and markets AccessMyLan, a hosted secure remote access service for operators and service providers. Founded in 2004, Asavie is led by a team with extensive experience in the development and deployment of secure networking solutions.

Headquartered in Dublin, Ireland Asavie host and manage the highly available and scalable AccessMyLan service from data centres around the world.

Management Team

Ralph Shaw, CEO

Ralph is a results-driven Corporate Sales/General Manager with a proven record in the establishment and surpassing of revenue and business objectives within the Technology Sector. Ralph has extensive experience in both ‘start-up’ and established operations in North America and Europe. Prior to joining Asavie, Ralph held positions with Baltimore Technologies and Mentec International Limited.

Tom Maher, Vice President, Engineering

A 18 year industry veteran, Tom has managed engineering teams consistently delivering data/telecommunication and security products on-time and in-budget for industry leaders such as Baltimore Technologies, AT&T Network Systems/Lucent, Eicon Technology and AEP Systems. Tom received a B.A. Mod (Hons), Computer Science in 1989, a M.Sc. in Computer Applications from Dublin City University in 1996 and a MBA from Michael Smurfit Graduate School of Business, UCD, in 2000.

Maurice McMullin, Vice President, Product Management

During the past 24 years Maurice has worked for local and international industry leaders in various technology and customer facing roles including at CTO level. Maurice held various technical roles with AEP Systems Limited, Viasec, European Space Agency, Digital Equipment Corporation and Mentec International Limited.

Ray Nolan, Non-Executive Chairman

Ray founded WRI in 1999 when he identified an opportunity to introduce online bookings to the hostel industry, a sector which had previously been ignored by mainstream online travel companies. As CEO, Ray grew Hostelworld.com to become a leading brand in the online travel space. A serial I.T. entrepreneur, Ray has been instrumental in the success of a number of companies in the Irish technology sector. He founded Raven Computing (subsequently Coretime Ltd) in 1989 to develop bespoke software solutions for the legal, and hospitality sectors, before subsequently developing a leading time and billing management system. He sold Coretime Ltd, to Sage in 2004. Awards for Ray include Ernst and Young Emerging Entrepreneur of the year 2003, and IIA Net Visionary 2006.

Investors

Asavie is privately held and funded by private investors and Enterprise Ireland, the Irish state development agency focused on accelerating the development of world-class Irish companies.
