The initial services, Intranet Negocios and Intranet M2M, are available from today
These services increase the speed of business processes, improve the quality of data exchange and significantly reduce operational costs
Dublin and Madrid, December 2010 - Asavie Technologies™ today announced an agreement with Telefónica to offer connectivity solutions to the operator's business customers. The agreement will allow Telefónica to offer its customers a range of mobile connectivity services for secure real-time information exchange. The services will, in turn, increase the speed of business processes, improve the quality of data exchange and significantly reduce operational costs.
"Companies are increasingly dependent on the availability of accurate information to fuel business processes and they are looking to their communications service providers to move information efficiently through their organisations," said Ralph Shaw, CEO, Asavie Technologies. "The cost and complexity of providing timely information where it is needed have increased with the explosive growth in new devices, applications, technologies and communications media, as well as increasing geographical diversification and employee mobility. Asavie's on-demand solutions accelerate the secure exchange of information between people, applications and devices - accurately and cost-effectively".
The first mobile connectivity solution delivered by Asavie to Telefónica, Intranet Negocios, is a remote connectivity service for Movistar business customers. Intranet Negocios allows remote workers to access their corporate Intranet and other company resources through a secure access point on the Movistar mobile network, as well as providing them with access to web based applications from any standard Internet browser, regardless of the type of device from which they are accessing. The service is based on Asavie's Remote Access service which delivers scalable and secure office mobility.
The second solution to be launched, Intranet M2M enables automated bi-directional wireless machine-to-machine (M2M) connectivity between central servers and remote equipment such as transportation fleets or vending machines. The service is based on Asavie's M2M Connect solution which wirelessly connects distributed machinery and optimises critical processes such as machinery maintenance and inventory replenishment. Both services are built on Passbridge, Asavie's unified connectivity platform, which provides a broad range of on-demand mobile connectivity services.
The Telefónica solutions based on these Asavie services will provide the security, flexibility and scalability required to manage the flow of business information. Both Intranet M2M and Intranet Negocios will be launched initially in Spain to the small and medium size enterprise (SME) market.
"Our business customers rely on Telefónica to provide mobile communications services that enable efficient business, and these new services will form part of our industry-leading portfolio of mobile connectivity solutions," said Luis Pavón, Head of Products & Services, Mobile Business, Telefónica. "With Asavie's advanced technologies and applications, we can bring services to market quickly, reduce operational costs, and minimise capital outlay. Most importantly, they ensure the best possible experience for our customers".
