Ralph Shaw

CEO 

Ralph is an experienced leader with a proven track record of successfully building and expanding software companies internationally. As a results-driven leader, Ralph is very focused on delivering on revenue and profitability targets and  has always brought this discipline to his extensive experience in both ‘start-up’ and established operations in North America and Europe. Prior to co-founding Asavie, Ralph held senior executive positions with AEP, Baltimore Technologies and Mentec International Limited. Ralph has graduated from the Executive Program in Strategy and Organization from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business. Ralph is a big rugby fan and an avid supporter of the Leinster and Irish teams.

Tom Maher

CTO & Co-Founder


Tom is the technical visionary behind Asavie and oversees the development team responsible for delivering the Asavie PassBridge platform. Tom has a long engineering career, delivering data/telecommunication and security products on-time and in-budget for industry leaders such as Baltimore Technologies, AT&T Network Systems/Lucent, Eicon Technology and AEP Systems. Tom has computer science qualifications from Trinity College, Dublin City University and an MBA from the Michael Smurfit Graduate School of Business, UCD, in 2000. When not sitting in front of his screen, Tom can be found spinning on his Specialized road bike around the hills of Dublin and Wicklow.

Chris Meehan

CFO


Chris oversees all the financial management functions at Asavie. He has thirty years’ experience in the IT sector, all at senior Board level. His experience is with private, public, and venture capital-funded companies. He was a member of the team that brought Trintech Group plc through a successful IPO on NASDAQ and the Neuer Markt and a member of the team that completed the successful sale of The Now Factory to IBM. Chris holds qualifications from UCD, is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland and has graduated from the Strategic Leadership 4 Chief Financial Officers Programme at Stanford University. Chris played competitive soccer for many years and still regularly plays 5-aside soccer.

Stuart Lodge

SVP Global Sales


Stuart is responsible for global sales at Asavie, covering all operator, OEM and direct channels. He joins Asavie from Sigfox, where he was Executive Vice President of Global Sales and Partners at Sigfox and a member of the company’s executive management team. Whilst at Sigfox, he was responsible for global direct and indirect sales, partners and the development of the Sigfox IoT ecosystem. Previously, he was the International Business Director at Sigfox, responsible for the international development of Sigfox and their network operator partnership program. Stuart also had a prior role at Tata Communications where he was Vice President for Europe and Director of Global Enterprise Strategy and Marketing. He also held a senior executive position at Vanco. He holds an Executive MBA from HEC, Paris, France and a Bachelor of Engineering from Bath University, United Kingdom. Like all true Welshmen he is a lifelong follower of the national rugby team.

Patrick Lennon

SVP Operations


Patrick has over twenty years of delivering software products to both Enterprise and Consumer segments. At Asavie, Patrick leads the Engineering and Operations teams. Patrick joined Asavie from Synchronoss Technologies where he was VP Engineering for their Cloud Services product line and also General Manager of their EU Technologies Centres. Prior to this he was Director of Engineering at Newbay Software (acquired by Synchronoss) and also was CEO at WestGlobal and CIO for Vodafone Ireland.
Patrick holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from University College Dublin and a Masters in Business Studies from the Michael Smurfit Graduate School of Business, UCD. Patrick is an avid sports enthusiast of all codes, so in his spare time you will usually find him coaching his sons’ rugby teams or cycling in the Dublin and Wicklow mountains.

Michael (Mick) Higgins

SVP Product Management


Michael is responsible for all Product Management at Asavie, bringing a world class mobile and IoT service portfolio and platform to markets across the globe. Before joining Asavie, Mick was VP of Mobility and IoT Product Management at Tata Communications where he oversaw Tata Communications’ global Mobility and IoT business and was a cofounder of Tata Communications MOVETM. He was also Managing Director of Alcatel-Lucent for Singapore and Brunei, and has also led Alcatel-Lucent’s Wireless Asia Pacific business.
Mick started his career with Bell Northern Research in the United Kingdom. During his 25+ years in telecommunications, Mick has worked extensively in R & D, product management, regional sales support and sales leadership roles across North America, Europe and Asia Pacific. Mick holds a degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Ulster in Ireland. In his spare time, Mick enjoys running, swimming, traveling, spending time with his family and is a connoisseur of curried chips.

Hugh Carroll

VP Marketing


Hugh oversees Asavie’s marketing activities, implementing targeted programs to drive pipeline and revenues within our global markets. Prior to Asavie he was a member of the executive founding team at Vordel (acquired by Axway:AXW), an API Management leader, where he ran global marketing and operations. Post-acquisition he ran marketing in APAC and Latam and Global Partners for Axway.
He previously worked as a Product Manager in the ISP division of Eircom Group (EIR) and as a development advisor with Enterprise Ireland to ICT startups. Hugh has a Degree in International Marketing and Languages from Dublin City University and the University of Cologne. He enjoys surfing, triathlons and cold water swimming, mainly because there’s no other choice when you live in Ireland.

Lars Jerkland

VP Ecosystem Partners


In his role Lars is responsible for the global OEM sales of Asavie’s IoT and mobility management products into all third party manufacturers and managed service providers. Prior to joining Asavie he held several senior sales roles with Google where he oversaw the sales and partner network development for Google’s Cloud Platform, Maps for Business and the Google Apps programs in EMEA. He also worked at Oracle where he was a Nordic regional Sales leader for their middleware stack. He has attended INSEAD and Umea University. By pure chance Lars has become a renovator of old homes and knows a thing or two about plumbing.

Keith O'Byrne

Head of Global Sales Engineering


In his role Keith consults with carriers in USA, Europe and Asia on next-generation IoT and mobility solutions and oversees Asavie’s global team of sales engineers. Keith has over 18 years of security and IT experience advising some of the world’s leading organizations on their Infosec posture and network design. Prior to Asavie, Keith worked with BeTrusted, Baltimore Technologies and Scottish Provident. Keith was CISSP accredited in 2001 and has earned a host of IT/Networking vendor certifications from the usual suspects. In his spare time Keith’s a bit of a pistonhead, and is at his happiest tinkering with the oldest and newest of engines.

Dr. Mark Mullane

Director of Engineering


Mark leads the engineering teams building products on top of Asavie’s core PassBridge platform. His career in software engineering actually began during his doctoral studies in Physics. Thereafter he held Senior Engineer and Software Architect roles at AEP Systems before joining Asavie as a founding employee, where he was part of the team that built the Asavie PassBridge platform. Mark holds degrees in Mathematics and Physics, and a Ph.D in Physics from University College Cork. He spends his free time trying to improve his guitar and piano skills, as well as playing 5-a-side soccer and squash whenever he can.

Emma Whelan

Group Financial Controller


Emma is an experienced Finance leader with responsibility for a team of financial accountants and sales operations professionals across Asavie’s operations in the USA and Europe. Prior to joining Asavie, Emma was with DKC accountants where she managed a portfolio of IT clients. She is dual qualified to ACCA and B.Law  and is currently completing her MBA program in Accounting & Finance with Trinity College, Dublin. Emma enjoys reading and travelling.

Alison Walsh

HR Manager


Ali leads the HR team in driving our people strategy and supporting employees across Ireland, USA, Europe and Asia. A member of the Charity Committee, she helps Asavie and our staff in continuing to make a difference. Prior to joining Asavie, she held HR and Recruitment roles in both public and private sector organizations in Ireland and New Zealand. Ali is CIPD accredited and holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree and Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management from University College Cork. Ali is currently studying for a Higher Diploma in Leadership Development at UCC. No surprises that she is a loyal Munster Rugby supporter!

Barry Carroll

Director of Deployment Services

Barry is responsible for managing the delivery of on-site and remote post-sales product implementations for customers globally. Before Asavie he held Lead Engineer and Technical Project Management roles with Openet and before that he had engineering and solution architect roles with both Jinny Software and Accuris. Barry holds a degree in electronic engineering from Dublin City University. When he gets the time, Barry likes to compete in adventure races, the WestportSea2Summit being a particular favorite.

Greg Shine

Director of Security & Compliance


Greg manages the Information Security function in Asavie with responsibility for overseeing the protection of both Asavie's and our customers' data. His previous roles in Banking, Finance and Payments with IBM, Lloyds TSB and First Data International have given him a strong security background which helps Asavie maintain a vigilant security posture. Greg has a MSc in Technology Management and is a certified CISSP. He still enjoys playing rugby and spending time with his family.

Paddy Holahan

Non-Executive Chairman


Paddy is an active angel investor and has been Non-Executive Director and advisor to numerous technology companies. Paddy founded NewBay Software in 2002 (sold to RIM), prior to this Paddy was EVP of Marketing and Product Management at Baltimore Technologies (Nasdaq/FTSE) and was co-founder and CEO of East Coast Software. He received a first-class honours degree in Computer Science from Trinity College Dublin, Ireland and graduated from the Leadership for Growth programme at Stanford University Graduate School of Business. Paddy is a keen cyclist and one of the driving forces behind the annual Paris2Nice charity road cycle.

Barry O'Sullivan

Non-Executive Director


Barry brings a wealth of experience and network connections to Asavie having spent most of his career in Silicon Valley. He is currently MD of Palo Alto Technology Partners, and prior to this was CEO and founder of Altocloud, acquired by Genesys in 2018. a software company with a mission of improving customer engagement experiences . Prior to Altocloud, he was Senior Vice President at Cisco Systems and has been General Manager of several multi-billion dollar divisions including Collaboration, Unified Communications and Voice over IP. Barry holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from University College Cork and a master’s degree in computer science from the University of Limerick, as well as a master’s degree in business administration from Santa Clara University, California. In his spare time, Barry enjoys cycling around Connemara and California.

Daniel Collins

Non-Executive Director


Daniel was co-founder and CTO of Jasper, that was acquired by Cisco for $1.4b. At Jasper he built and led a world-class team credited with dozens of registered patents, to develop Jasper Control Center, the leading global Internet of Things (IoT) platform. Daniel was also Chief Network Architect at AT&T Wireless with responsibility for the design and deployment of AT&T Wireless’s nationwide GSM/GPRS network. As VP North America with Alcatel, he oversaw Alcatel’s North America’s convergence strategies and solutions. He began his career at Ericsson and helped develop some of the world’s earliest GSM networks. Daniel is the author of Carrier Grade Voice over IP, and co-author of 3G Wireless Networks, both published by McGraw-Hill. Daniel holds a B.Eng degree from University College Cork, Ireland.
